    6. ‘Space to Space’ CNES and YouTube Space Paris team up to spur creation of space videos

      For ESA’s upcoming Proxima mission, CNES and YouTube Space Paris have teamed up to provide YouTube creators a unique package of resources, with a space set at YouTube Space in Paris and a day of filming opportunities at exceptional space exploration facilities in France. Creators will then be invited to enter their space videos in a competition organized by CNES and the winners will be given the chance to experience the sensation of weightlessness on a parabolic flight. The winners will be announced by ESA’s French astronaut Thomas Pesquet from the ISS next spring.

    13. France-China space cooperation- 12th meeting of French-Chinese space committee & 9th meeting of space sub-group of French-Chinese strategic dialogue

      Wednesday 5 June, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall and Zhang Kejian, Administrator of the China National Space Administration (CNSA), chaired the 12th meeting of the French-Chinese space committee in Shanghai devoted to reviewing and developing space cooperation between the two nations. They also took part in the 9th meeting of the space sub-group of the French-Chinese strategic dialogue, which focused on the CFOSat oceanography satellite launched on 29 October 2018 and the development of the SVOM astrophysics mission. At today’s space committee meeting, the findings of thematic workshops on Earth science, climate change, life science, space science and lunar and deep space exploration were presented.

      Thursday 28 June, Frédérique Vidal, Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Toulouse Space Centre. The minister visited the centre after closing the Toulouse Space Show (TSS), where over the last three days CNES and its partners from the Occitanie region of Southwest France have been hosting key space stakeholders to discuss latest solutions, future trends and the NewSpace economy.

      The Ariane 6 Launcher Task Force consists of top management of ESA, as the overall Ariane 6 procuring entity and launch system architect, of the French space agency CNES as the launch base prime contractor, of ArianeGroup as the launcher system prime contractor and of Arianespace as the launch service provider. This group reports regularly on progress being made towards inaugural flight of the new Ariane 6 launcher.

The day before, he met Sylvain Laporte, President of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), for a status check to review progress on implementing the space cooperation agreement signed by France and Canada in 2014 during President Françoise Hollande’s state visit to Canada.
